This roller is a hard rubber, cleanable and reusable roller, capable of spreading the right thickness of polyurethane glue (Gorilla glue) for wood laminations or over veneer substrates. When the glue is applied and rolled out, it appears to be a barely wet surface, which is perfect for this type of ‘foaming’ glue. The polyurethane glue tends to foam up and will penetrate though the wood or veneer if applied to heavy, and come through the surface, which is difficult to sand off after the glue has cured. Applying the right thickness is critical to having a successful and clean lamination. Gorilla glue can be cleaned off the roller with denatured alcohol or lacquer thinner, if done before the glue starts to harden on the surface. We have been doing veneering with this glue for over 35 years and have had great success with it. Gorilla will glue veneer onto most plastics, stone, and metal, and has proven to be one of the better adhesives that will bond diverse material together.
