I currently own and operate a custom woodworking shop specializing in marquetry and building fine furniture and marquetry art, and produce up to 10 pieces per year. I have been teaching furniture making, veneer-work and marquetry since 1980, and I am dedicated to passing on the knowledge I have received from the many fine teachers and masters I have studied with since 1970. I have taught over 100 seminars, done many lectures, and continue to enjoy sharing what I have learned, while mentoring others in apprenticeships and collaborative projects. 2017 found me traveling to Marc Adams School of Woodworking, Kansas City Woodworkers Guild, Des Moines Woodworking Guild, Kings Island Shop, David Marks Studio, IWF and AWFS.
Looking ahead toward the future- I have been given the opportunity to create some extraordinary work that will take focus, resources, and a bit of effort to complete by 2019. This cutting edge work will serve me well into the future as a teacher and an artist.
The Schürch Woodwork on-line store will be open, and I will continue to do consulting for individuals and companies, but I will not conduct any classes until ‘Veneered Furniture’ Feb. 4-9, 2019 here at my shop. This class is open to past students, so email me if you want to get onto this list.
I look forward to seeing you again in 2019!
